June
22th, 1999 Site development is underway and its coming along nicely. Meanwhile the modelling isn't actually moving on. There is a problem with the author's version of 3D Max Studio & Quake 3's OpenGL drivers. The only thing left to do while this problem is rectify, is to create skins for the excisting models of Quake and Quake 2. These would be available in two weeks time. Research on the clans started, with a sample of one clan available right now. Go to the general information page to see it. More clans to be added soon but meanwhile a list of all the known Scottish clans. The download section is up and includes the necessary files for playing Quake CTF (Capture The Flag). Included is a few editors and compilers for creating models and levels. There is even a few patches and modifications.
June 20th, 1999 The idea came to mind to start a quake clan between a few friends. But what will make this Quake clan stand out from all the other clans except for its ranking. So we decided to build a clan in which the members have a common theme. When one think of the word 'clan', one instantanially think of 'Duncan MacLeod, from the clan MacLead' from the Highlander TV-series. So why not start a Scottish clan for Quake. What would cause more commotion than a bunch of men in skirts....eh kilts. The author of this site, Neil Craig, is from Scottish blood, only now living in South Africa. He has taken proud in this project, not only in the view of creativity but uniting him with his heritage. He is in charge of the research of all the clans and their history. He plans to include historical figures & scottish folk tales into the clan, like William Wallace or Brave Heart, as most of us know him, to the druids of the Stone Henge. Site development should be done by the end of July. |
